420 Clinic Blog, Medical Monday Leave a Comment

Since it’s Movember, we wanted to dedicate this week’s medical edition of the blog to men’s cancers and how medical marijuana can help. Specifically, we are looking at testicular cancer and prostate cancer.

How common are testicular cancer and prostate cancer?
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young Canadian men aged 15 – 29 years. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

How can medical marijuana help?
Medical cannabis has been shown to ease many symptoms of cancer, mainly: nausea, loss of appetite and pain. In addition to the cancer itself, traditional treatment methods like chemotherapy and radiation can cause nausea and loss of appetite for many. Medical cannabis is great for easing nausea as well as boosting an appetite. As for pain, marijuana has traditionally been used to treat pain from mild to severe to chronic.
